The Benefits of Building Trials, Focused on Participants, Delivered in Their Own Community
Time: 9:30 am
day: Day Two
Details:
A survey revealed that the average distance adults are willing to travel for healthcare is 20.4 miles – which decreases based on age, ethnicity, and geographic location – yet the average distance trial participants (globally) travel to a site is approximately 115 miles. By not making trial participation more accessible to participants, the industry is unlikely to see an improvement in both recruitment and retention. This presentation explores how decentralized clinical trial (DCT) elements, when strategically incorporated into trial designs, can alleviate those barriers and when effectively utilized, can increase enrollment and retention, as well as accelerate trial timelines, by bringing more trials directly into communities.
